Ok, so it is approximately 9:45PM on Monday night, and I have decided to frantically throw together NRT #43 at the very last minute, since it has been a while since we’ve seen a legit NRT. I forewarned you that this would happen, as my work load is ever increasing and can’t spend as much time as I want to keeping Postmusic as active as possible. So, with that in mind, I do want to share some music with you in a very quick, simple edition of NRT. There’s been a lot of great stuff coming out lately – including new albums by Crystal Castles and LCD Soundsystem to name a few. Unfortunately, I’m not going to touch on either of those albums until I give them both a fair second-listen-through. Just for the record, on first impression alone, I was fairly disappointed with both albums to some degree (I’ll have to explain more on that thought later – because really, both albums were probably better than anything either group has ever done to date). Honestly, I am really not THAT big of a fan of either group to begin with. More [p33]r0y commentary on both groups (and their respective new albums) at a later time. :)

Breakbot

Breakbot

Adam Smith (who, you may recall, did the excellent remixes of Hot Chip’s I Feel Better and Florence and the Machine’s You’ve Got The Love) recently sent me another top notch remix. This time, he has taken the catchy jam Baby I’m Yours by Breakbot, who I am falling more and more in love with. Seriously, Breakbot is the REAL DEAL right now. His production stuff is funky, discotheque, electro, and super catchy. Not to mention, so is Adam Smith – who’s winning all of us over with each new remix. Frankly, I can’t wait to hear more from this guy.

1. Breakbot – Baby I’m Yours (Adam Smith Remix)

This next tune Blaze It is one of my favorites right now, and it’s by popular UK producer Herve. And the remix was done by Reset! from Milano, Italy. Reset! has done some other really good remixes, but so far this one takes the cake.

2. Herve – Blaze It (Reset! Remix)

[MP3]

I don’t know a thing about French electro duo Housse de Racket, but obviously after hearing their jam Oh Yeah!, I’m going to start paying a lot more attention. So far, the track has been remixed by a number of great DJs, including the newer nu disco duo Nighty Max – which is what honestly drew me to this song to begin with. See for yourself.

3. Housse de Racket – Oh Yeah! (Nighty Max Remix)

[MP3]

I am really not so hot on the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s track Dull Life, but Professor Purple did it up real nice. YYY fans – you’ll love this.

4. Yeah Yeah Yeahs – Dull Life (Professor Purple Remix)

Cincinatti, Ohio native Pase Rock has a new one (I think it’s new) out. TBH, it’s…not very….uhh…well, we’re all entitled to our opinions. But, the Nadastrom remix? Superb.

5. Pase Rock – Nights (Nadastrom Remix)

[MP3]

Love it. Hate it. Whatever. I’m leaving you with some really amazing remixes of some current Top 40/pop songs. By now, you should know that I’m a sucker for some of this stuff, but electro remixes just make it that much better. I’m in a rush (sorry!), so I won’t go into any detail here. But, you should definitely give these tracks a listen. And, dance. :)

6. Justin Bieber vs. MSTRKRFT – Baby (CJ Milli Mix)

[MP3]

7. Black Eyed Peas – Rock That Body (Skrillex Remix)

[MP3]

8. Snoop Dogg – That Tree (ft. KiD CuDi) (Star Guitar Remix)

[MP3]

9. Lady GaGa – Bad Romance (Kids Are Radioactive Remix)

[MP3]

10. Taio Cruz – Break Your Heart (ft. Ludacris) (Wideboys Remix)

[MP3]

Thanks (and sorry) for putting up with my erratic blogging ;) Love you guys. See you soon.
